Last week I stepped on the scale and I was 252 pounds, 8 pounds from my all time heaviest. Only 2 1/2 years ago I was at a decent weight, around 215. It's time to get serious about getting healthier. I'm tired of being huge. I'm tired of most of my clothes not fitting. I'm going on a trip with some friends this fall to celebrate all of us turning 40 and I'm using that as a goal date. I'm shooting for 185. It's a lot to lose, 67 lbs, but it's 34 weeks away and works out nicely to 2 lbs a week. Last time I went on a hard core diet it didn't last long. I cut out all carbs and I was only able to stick with it a few weeks. This time I'm going to start slower.
- Try to eat healthy real food and not processed crap void of nutrition
- Cut down on portions, This is a big one for me. I'm used to eating till I'm full and half an hour later I'm so stuffed I'm in pain. I often do this several meals a day.
- Stay away from the sweets. Candy bars, Coke, Hostess Cupcakes from the vending machine. I'm not eating any of this crap anymore.
-Easy on the starches. When I cut them I seem to lose weight the fastest. But if I cut them too much I quit the diet.
- Fitness Tracker. I'm recording my steps and I'm going to try to gradually increase them.
